Such a classic mid-century silhouette! beautiful late 1950s to early 1960s cocktail dinner dress is Perfect for formal events or casual wear. This really could be dressed up or down. It is charming and really helps give way to a feminine hourglass figure. In a pretty navy blue color.
Neckline and Bodice Has an elegant Boat Neck (Bateau) that sits wide toward the shoulders. The bodice has a relaxed fit with short sleeves The dress is shaped with vertical bust darts that extend upward from the waistband to provide a custom shape to the bodice. Dress has An amazing, wide colorful waistband in a paisley tapestry pattern. This acts as a built-in “cummerbund” to accentuate and cinch the waistline.. has a metal zipper that zips up in the back.Material is likely High-quality Silk Shantung. Burn and water test consistent with silk.also by feel of texture. This is most likely silk I could be wrong but all signs (strongly) pointing to silk shantung. Dress has a textured feel to it with slub nubs throughout the weave it has a low lustre sheen.
Sizing. Taken laying flat to the max the garment will go pulled out for most accuracy. Compare to a dress you have at home that fits you well 🙂 size M-L is an estimate
