The Story
This is the sweetest champagne gold 1950s evening set. Probably my favorite in the whole shop ❤️Made to make you feel like you just stepped off a Hollywood movie set. It is a such a dreamy dress for anyone that loves the Marilyn Monroe hourglass look.
The dress is a metallic brocade that catches the light beautifully. It has a gorgeous textured floral pattern throughout that gives it such a sparkle! Inside it feels like the dress is likely lined with what is a high-quality taffeta that provides wonderful structure to the wiggle of the dress . The bodice is tailored with vertical darts that go down into the waist. The bust has subtle horizontal darting that gives off the pointed Marilyn Monroe look. The straps are very pretty they are double piped on each shoulder. Has a nipped in waistline. Dress has a metal zipper in the back with the label green on it. The skirt is flattering and has a kick pleat in the back. The bolero – the cover up jacket has the brocade satin trim & the rest seems like a soft cotton. Has adjustable drawstring for fit. Lovely Peter Pan collar. The dress is in a champagne Gold color.

Disclaimers:
*This dress could appear lighter in hue in different lighting
* I have described materials as accurately as possible. As a vintage seller I have understanding on materials for dresses. however this dress was a bit more tricky it definitely is a brocade and being it’s from the 1950s it’s most likely a satin faced garment and a taffeta lining from how it feels inside. The coat likely cotton. Just putting it out there for compete honesty I could be wrong it could be rayon or another lovely mid century material. This particular dress had me a stumped a small bit.
